In 2019, during my final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication, I completed a three-month internship at L&B Gallery, a contemporary art gallery located in Barcelona, Spain. My main mission was to completely revamp their website, www.lbcontemporaryart.com. The goal was to create a platform that was White Cube, dynamic, responsive, organized, static, clear, and modern, providing comprehensive, organized, and up-to-date information through WordPress and coding, while maintaining the identity already established across social media. I also assisted the exhibiting artists, regularly managed the gallery on my own, and contributed to the general management of the gallery and its exhibitions during these three months.
This internship abroad taught me both professionally and personally. I was able to become an integral member of the team, participate in various projects, and learn from all my discoveries and encounters. I developed autonomy, instinctiveness, curiosity, responsiveness, and commitment. Most importantly, I learned to carry a significant project in its entirety, justifying my choices and proposals in a country with a culture and methodology different from my own, in various languages and contexts. It was an extraordinary learning environment.
Note: After creating an explanatory guide for the website's functionality, I no longer manage its content updates; this responsibility is now with the new members of the gallery.
